⁵ The Lord afflicted^(A) the king with leprosy^[a] until the day he died, and he lived in a separate house.^[b](B) Jotham^(C) the king’s son had charge of the palace^(D) and governed the people of the land.

⁶ As for the other events of Azariah’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? ⁷ Azariah rested^(E) with his ancestors and was buried near them in the City of David. And Jotham^(F) his son succeeded him as king.

³² In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham^(B) son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign.

³⁸ Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David, the city of his father. And Ahaz his son succeeded him as king.

²¹ King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house^[a](A)—leprous, and banned from the temple of the Lord. Jotham his son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.

²² The other events of Uzziah’s reign, from beginning to end, are recorded by the prophet Isaiah^(B) son of Amoz. ²³ Uzziah^(C) rested with his ancestors and was buried near them in a cemetery that belonged to the kings, for people said, “He had leprosy.” And Jotham his son succeeded him as king.^(D)
